Tequila Tray with 11 Unique Cups by Ariana Diaz de Cossio
One - of - a- kind, hand made Ceramic Tequila Tray with 11 cups of varying sizes. Made by reknown ceramic artist, Adriana Diaz de Cossio. Adriana Díaz de Cossío was born in Mexico City in 1970. She was raised at Taller Experimental de Cerámica established by her father, Alberto Díaz de Cossío, in Coyoacan in the early 60s, where she has worked since 1990 as the coordinator of workshop production, design, and in the making of her own artistic pieces. Also she gives classes and is a technical consultant. She makes utilitarian and artistic stoneware (2,399°F, cone 11, oxidation atmosphere) and develops glasses, pastes, slips and different application techniques. Her work is a combination of high temperature techniques and personal concepts influenced by Pre-Hispanic and contemporary Mexican pottery techniques. She has exhibited her work in Japan, United States, Germany, Mexico, and in other countries. She won the first Bienal de Cerámica del Museo Franz Mayer in mass production and she received an honorific mention at Bienal de Arte Cerámica, Premio Nuevo León 2007.
