Collector's Note: For the serious curator of 21st-century American Art Glass. This documented 2003 Blenko specimen is a masterclass in technical difficulty and color theory. While many "Tequila Sunrise" pieces feature a simple two-tone transition, this rare example features a striking Cobalt Blue weighted base and a deep Olive Green flared rim-a sophisticated tri-color assembly seldom seen in this form. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The frosted stem shows very minor surface beauty marks (see pics).
These appear to be tiny characteristic inclusions from the handcrafted firing process, common in large Blenko architectural pieces. They do not detract from the structural integrity or the spectacular display of the piece. Features a soft-etched, authentic sandblasted signature and "2003" date on the base (typical of the Richard Blenko era). Please review all pictures for the incredible detail and texture.
Mixed Media Finish: The stem features a sophisticated satin-frosted texture that contrasts beautifully with the high-gloss base and rim. Cadmium "Sunfire" Glow: The tangerine core is highly UV reactive, exhibiting a fiery orange-red glow under blacklight as a hallmark of rare Cadmium and Selenium glass batches.
