6-piece Sakae Almighty Birch drum set. 6-piece Sakae Almighty Birch shell pack. This is the amazing Tequila sparkle lacquer finish. Beginning in the late 60s Sakae became a builder for Yamaha. For 40 years Sakae made most of Yamahas high-end drums, including the legendary Recording Custom. This kit is the Birch option of their popular Almighty Maple series and is essentially modeled after the Recording Custom. This birch sound, with a staggered ply construction, has been a top studio choice for years. The Sakae Almighty Birch series features 8-ply bass drum shells (7-ply floor tom; 6-ply rack toms) that are carefully crafted for a minimal seam. T his kit was handmade in Japan in 2016.

It has 3 rack toms with mounting hardware. Two toms mount on the kick and another tom arm is also included. The snare in the photos is NOT INCLUDED.

These drums tune up easy and sound incredibly clear with a tight, contained sound. These drums are built for recording. The drums are used but have never left my studio and the lacquer finish and chrome is immaculate. There is fairly brand new Evans coated G2 heads on the toms with the original Sakae heads on the resonant side (see pics). There is an Evans EMAD clear head on the bass drum batter side. Hardware: Bass drum double tom mount, tom arm, 6 floor tom legs.
