1978 Vintage Ludwig Vistalite 4pc Tequila Sunrise Drum Set

  

Officially, this color scheme is called the Pattern B 5 Band Rainbow, and includes a 12x8 and 13x9 mounted Toms, a 16x16 Floor Tom, and a 22x14 Base Drum. Sometime in the early 80s, and with my interest in metal I decided to convert this to a black set.

I did this by removing all the hardware and wrapping the outside shells in black contact paper. I finally decided to restore my set to its original condition last year. Amazingly, the paper came off easily and actually protected the set from all the fun it had over the years. Zoom up real close on the pics and youll see this set is in very good shape.

There are no cracked seams, only a few scuffs here and there which Ive read can be removed with the right material and process. However, I decided not to get that deep into trying to make the set look perfect. Over the last year Ive been searching the internet and have yet to find another 5 Band set with this color pattern, so you could be looking at a rare kit! I will try again soon.
